Breast Cancer Confidence Project

“Embrace Your Body” book project
Portraits and stories from 10-15 women who represent the diverse backgrounds and experiences of those impacted by breast cancer will be published in a full-color hardcover book, entitled “Embrace Your Body.”

These books will be gifted to women newly diagnosed with breast cancer upon entering treatment at one of our participating breast cancer treatment centers. Our goal is to provide reassurance, encouragement, and to positively influence those grappling with fears of lost confidence and/or bodily insecurity.

In effort to create a product that represents the diverse backgrounds and experiences of those impacted by breast cancer, applicants are asked to provide demographic information. Candidates will be selected for additional interview based on their responses to this form. Final selections will be made by our board of directors following review of applications for optimal diversity and inclusivity – we want this book to be relatable for ALL people battling breast cancer

Social Gatherings, Community Events, Appearances, & Collaborations

We love bringing people together and building connections within the breast cancer community! Our breast friends meet up several times a year for intimate social gatherings and bonding. We also believe in unity and the power of alliance amongst groups serving those with breast cancer and other serious diseases, and often partner with other local organizations that work towards similar goals.

Breast Cancer Confidence Project

Contribute Confidence Stories

Our project aims to help ALL women recover from confidence and body image challenges after breast cancer. Because we know that not all journeys are alike, we love to feature voices from others within our community! Contributors may provide a one timefeature, ormay provide content for multiple posts – it is entirely up to you how involved you would like to be

Guidelines

Length: No more than 1,800 characters– this allows us space to introduce you/tag any pages within the confines of instagram’s caption limits

Topic: Focus on how your diagnosis and journey has uniquely impacted your confidence, body image, sexual health, or overall sense of wellness

Style: Tell your story the way that you want to tell it– we want to help you share your true feelings and journey! We are not here to direct or dramatically alter your words

Don’t be afraid to get a little vulnerable. You are speaking to your people, and you never know who may need to hear your story

  • Age at diagnosis
  • Breast cancer stage
  • Where you are from (city, state/province or country)
  • Your story or caption (1,800 character limit)
